Dr. Rohini Ruhil

Dr. Rohini Ruhil is PhD in Social Medicine and Community Health from Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi. Her other qualifications include BDS, PGDHHM and MA (Rural Development). She secured a Gold Medal at the university level in her master’s from IGNOU. She is also an alumna of IIHMR Delhi and secured a Gold Medal for best all round performance in PGDHHM. She qualified UGC-NET-JRF and got a scholarship to pursue her PhD as JRF and SRF. Her experiences include teaching, research, tobacco cessation and industry. She has also worked as a consultant in the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare.

She has 19 publications in journals of national and international repute including Elsevier and Sage. She is also a reviewer in several national and international journals including BMC Public Health, BMJ Open, Sage Open and Tobacco Induced Diseases (TID). She has also authored a chapter in a book. She has worked on several manuals of MOHFW including national tobacco cessation guidelines. Further, she has drafted a few manuals for WHO-SEARO Tobacco Free Initiatives.

She has done the Global Tobacco Control Certificate Program from Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, USA, for which she received a scholarship. She has presented papers in several national and international conferences, workshops and seminars and secured a few awards including Best Poster Prize and a Prize in Slogan competition in public health. She has also done national training of trainers (TOT) program in the TB-Tobacco integration Project.

Overall, she has a passion for research and academics.
